Cassandra is a Long Island-based singer/songwriter whose unique sound has been described as soulful, earnest & raw. She has shared the stage with such talents as Amy Helm and the Handsome Strangers, Shannon McNally, G. Love, Lucy Kaplansky, Jen Chapin & Todd Scheaffer of Railroad Earth.
Compared to the likes of Patty Griffin, Kathleen Edwards & Neko Case, her original music, surrounded by her band of five star musicians makes this act a must-see. She has been a featured folk artist in her community on Long Island, and looks forward to branching out to other states and spreading her music to any ears willing to listen. Cassandra’s newest recording efforts have been with the help of acclaimed & Grammy winning producer/engineer Ben Wisch.
“Cassandra creates a kind of newish Americana and singer-songwriter music that fans of Neko Case and Kathleen Edwards might like. Her songs are earnest explorations of relationships, love, and whatever exists in between and create an interesting juxtaposition with her seemingly whimsical personality and lighthearted exterior. I, for one, enjoy profundity born out of whimsy…especially when delivered with a mellifluous voice and that lovely seal familiarity stamped all over it.“- Alan Semerdjian, Long Island Pulse
“Like Bonnie Raitt or Brandi Carlile, Cassandra’s vocals make you feel something raw and real before you are even aware of the words you’re listening to. On a deeper second listen, you hear hard truths and gritty honesty that sound like they could come from a songwriter 20 years older – and they make you feel the same things more.” – Rorie Kelly, Long Island Pulse
Cassandra’s new album, ‘The Roam’ is out now wherever you listen to your music !
